Hi, I’m Kristen
I’m a writer, digital product creator, and the mom behind Unscripted Mom Life– a soft place for overwhelmed moms who are tired of feeling like they have disappeared beneath the laundry, responsibilities, routines, and needs of everyone around them.
For years, I believed my own needs could wait.
I thought I would have more time for myself once the house was under control, the busy seasons passed, and life finally settled down. But there was always another load of laundry, another task, another person who needed something.
Eventually, I realized I could not keep waiting for a quieter life before allowing myself to live.
Now, I create honest encouragement, gentle routines, practical homemaking ideas, and realistic resources that help moms like you make everyday life feel a little calmer, lighter, and more manageable.
Not perfect.
Not carefully scripted.
Just more supportive of the real woman living in the middle of it all.
What I Believe
I believe you do not have to wait until everything is fixed before you begin taking care of yourself again.
You do not need an empty to-do list, a perfectly organized home, or permission from anyone else before you rest, create, dream, or do something that makes you feel like yourself.
Motherhood can take up so much space that it becomes difficult to remember who you were before everyone needed you.
But the woman you were has not disappeared. She may simply need room to breathe, encouragement to begin again, and the reminder that her needs still matter.
Rest is not a reward you earn after finishing everything.
Your identity is not something you have to postpone until a more convenient season.
And a meaningful life does not have to be built through dramatic transformations.
Sometimes it begins with ten quiet minutes, one gentler routine, a creative project, or the decision to stop placing yourself last.
Who Unscripted Mom Life Is For
This space is for the mom who:
- Feels invisible beneath everyone else’s needs
- Is overwhelmed by the pressure to keep up
- Wants a calmer home without chasing perfection
- Misses the person she used to be
- Feels guilty whenever she slows down
- Needs realistic routines that can survive real life
- Wants encouragement that feels honest rather than overly polished
- Is ready to make room for herself again
You will find practical ideas for gentle routines, cozy homemaking, budgeting, family life, creativity, self-care, and navigating motherhood without losing yourself completely.
Most importantly, you will find reminders that you are not failing because life feels messy.
You are human.
You are carrying a lot.
And you deserve support too.
You Are Allowed to Begin Now
Perhaps you have been quietly telling yourself that your turn will come later.
Later, when the children need less.
Later, when the house is cleaner.
Later, when the schedule calms down.
Later, when you have more energy, confidence, money, or time.
But later has a way of continually moving farther away.
You are allowed to start now- imperfectly, gently, and exactly as you are.
Welcome to Unscripted Mom Life
You do not have to have everything figured out here.
You only need a willingness to create a little more ease, reconnect with yourself, and build a life that has room for you in it too.
