One Word(less) Wednesdays: An Unscripted Writing Prompt
One word. Five minutes.
When I got the inspiration for this post series from a different blog, I had originally wanted to start with the word: UNSCRIPTED.
But then, the word POWER popped into my mind.
So we are going with that.
The Webster’s definition of the word POWER is:
“the ability to act or produce an effect”
And I gave myself a few minutes to think about that.
As moms, how do we have power?

And this is what I came up with…
We, as moms, have power in quiet, yet undeniable ways.
We shape the rhythm of our homes, set the emotional tone for our families, and influence the values our children carry into the world.
Every decision- from how we spend time to what we teach- flows outward, creating lasting impact.
Our power isn’t loud or flashy; it’s steady, creative, and transformative.
That power is a reminder that even the smallest daily choices can shape future generations.
We hold power in every choice and response.
From setting boundaries to creating warmth, our daily actions have a profound impact on our families’ growth, confidence, and stability.
That power shows up in the small yet consistent ways we influence the environment where our children learn how to live, love, and lead.
It’s less about force and more about the ripple of everyday actions producing lasting effects.

Power for moms doesn’t have to look like control or perfection…
It’s simply the ability to act and create an effect in the lives we touch every day.
Whether that is:
- guiding our children
- shaping the atmosphere of our homes
- or choosing how we show up in the world
…our quiet influence carries weight.
The beauty of this power is that it doesn’t demand applause; it leaves a legacy in the everyday moments that add up to a lifetime of love and impact.
That’s the kind of POWER worth leaning into-
- steady
- gentle
- and deeply transformative
